DANDARA ON THE RUN

Dandara Majo found that man with bandaged eyes very peculiar and suspicious from the start. It turns out that this mysterious man had such an enormous energy that it was monstrous, and when she realized he was looking for her, the first thing Dandara did was run away. After all, she believed he was there to kill her, and there was no way to fight against that man; the power difference was noticeable only by the energy he exuded. But perhaps there was a chance to escape from him. She thought that, knowing the city very well, she could shake him off. But that's not exactly what happened.

"Dandara on the Run" was an incredibly enjoyable piece to create, as fun as it was challenging. I was delighted with the outcome, both in the separate details and the complete composition.
I divided this artwork into three parts: the background, Gojo, and, finally, Dandara. I believed in the process and, slowly, arrived at a very satisfying result. Below, I share a bit about the creation process of this intriguing artwork.

Background

The idea began with an incessant search for a good background. Hours were spent scouring photographs of downtown São Paulo, specifically the old town center.
That place evoked a strange nostalgia in me, especially the very antique flooring. I've had those floors and that architecture in my memories since I was a child. I envisioned Dandara running through there. I found some wonderful photos on the Pinterest website.
This was the chosen photo because of its beauty and angle.

I made some modifications to better fit the scene's situation. First, I replaced the blue sky with a rainy one. Then, I used Photoshop's Filter Gallery to turn the photo into a kind of drawing. Once finished, I added a layer with a solid dark blue color to darken the image entirely. I painted windows to give the impression they had lights on. On top of everything, I placed a PNG image of rain and used the soft brush to create the water reflection on the ground.
It took numerous tries to achieve this result.
Satoru Gojo
After deciding where the scene would take place, I resolved to use an artwork I had created of Satoru Gojo with the intention of using it for the chapter cover, but I ended up changing my mind. However, this artwork turned out to be incredibly beautiful, as I believe I managed to capture the essence of the character in it. So, I reserved it for this scene.
The reference was also found on Pinterest. It was a picture of a model walking peacefully down the street, and it wasn't challenging to transform this reference into my favorite character.

The only difficulty was the perspective of the nose and the bands covering his eyes, but a friend from the JJK WhatsApp group (Jenny) helped me by providing examples. (Thank you! <3)

Drawing my love, Satoru Gojo, is truly gratifying.
Dandara
To this art, I needed a reference of a woman running from the direction in which Gojo was walking. Most of what I found depicted physical activity, but I wanted one where the woman was desperately fleeing. It took me a while, but I finally found one on Pinterest.
The expression needed to be intense, and I took the reference of gritted teeth from one of the emojis in my Facebook avatar. I saved several just to have more references for facial expressions.

The painting is my favorite part. It always feels like a learning experience to color Dandara, but I saved some color samples to make it easier when painting. The dirt and the blood were experiments with brushes that I downloaded from the internet.
Composition
When I placed the characters in the background, I darkened both and added elements to integrate them into the image. I added shadows and light according to the window lights.
Finally, I used a special brush that simulates droplets to create the splashing drops around her feet.
Full Scene
The result turned out somewhat dark. I loved it.
Thank you for reading this far. Tell me what you think.
Until next time! <3
